Honesty Flower

In my piece, the Lunaria flower, also known as the HONESTY FLOWER, is being pollinated by a bee. The honesty flower gets its name from a few different sources, one of them being the life of Judas In the Bible. The seeds of the honesty flower resemble silver coins before they bloom. Similarly to the account of Jesus’ friend and treasurer Judas who betrayed him for silver coins that eventually led to his crucifixion. In an attempt to make things right, Judas tried to return the coins before he committed suicide. His guilt and dishonesty, eventually led him to honesty and truth. In addition to the flower carrying the honesty meaning, a bee also lives within a culture of honor and honesty. Every bee lives a life of service as part of a kingdom. They start and end their day building the kingdom of the hive while pollinating and helping flowers spread around fertile ground. I’m inspired by their servant heart, loyalty to their tribe, honor, and honesty. Let this piece be a reminder to not simply try to be honest, but instead let honesty be part of our identity. It’s who we are. Let’s build cultures, businesses, friend groups, cell groups, work places, etc. with a foundation of honesty in our hearts.
